Celebrating Somalia’s 61st Independence Day Festival.

The Somali Community Association of Queensland (SCAQ) presents:
Somalia’s 61st Independence Day Festival.
The purpose of this event is to celebrate the Somali Independence Day and showcase our culture and history.
The event is attended by all community members including elders, youth, children,
scholars, community leaders from different backgrounds, and experts. A variety of activities and programs are organised for everyone including.

  • Fireworks Display 
  • Cultural performances,
  • Football Tournament
  • FREE children Rides.
  • BBQ
  • Henna
  • Face-painting,
  • Somali traditional food and many more.

We have been fortunate enough in the past to have the support and help from all the community services within Queensland. Just like all the other community events, we are hopeful that this year will be no exception as your support is highly appreciated.

With that in mind, we would like to ask you to consider becoming one of the Somali Independence Day Festival participants for 2021.
Service providers if you are service provider you can provide activities for children and information sessions etc 
Community organisation You can participate with us by sharing your cultural food, dance etc.

Whoever wants to join us can set up a stall where they can sell their cultural food. . All are welcome.
